Some occasions call for more than a “function” room. If you are bringing together family, special friends or colleagues, Castle Lodge gives you a characterful setting and a team who will look after the details so you can enjoy the day.
Choose an intimate dinner in our private room, take over the restaurant for the evening, or opt for exclusive use and let the entire hotel become your own. For something more informal hire out our characterful snug or for a really grand setting opt for Prince Arthur’s. We also host a limited number of partner dinners and charity events each year, pairing Harry’s many food choices with poised, attentive service in a Tudor backdrop.
Private Dining Room (available mid-July onwards)
Set just away from the main restaurant, the private dining room suits gatherings that are lively, relaxed and still feel a little special.
Large table dining
Ideal for birthdays, family get-togethers and celebratory suppers. Available for groups of 10 or more, choosing from our restaurant menu. To keep the kitchen and service running smoothly, we ask you to pre-order menu choices in advance.
Bespoke private dining
For a more made-to-measure evening, we can host up to 14 guests with a bespoke menu. Our team will work with you on dishes, timings and wine pairings so the night fits the occasion. A minimum spend applies for bespoke private dining.
Harry's Restaurant Private Hire
If you are planning for a bigger group, you can hire the restaurant exclusively in the evening for up to 35 guests. It’s a great option when you want more freedom with the menu and the pacing of the night, while still keeping things intimate.
If you’re hosting elsewhere, or your numbers are beyond what we can comfortably offer at Castle Lodge, our team can also talk you through Evatt & Bullock private dining.
The Snug
Seating up to 20 people this characterful room on the ground floor is ideal for cosy parties and get togethers. Various food options are available – talk to us for ideas and suggestions.
The Snug can be hired without any dining options depending on your event.
Prince Arthur (available mid-July)
Located on the first floor, Prince Arthur is the largest and grandest room in the building, suitable for 6 – 15 guests. It’s surely one of the most luxurious rooms in Ludlow, boasting wall-to-wall wood panelling, a grand fireplace and huge bay window overlooking Castle Square. What could be better for a grand banquet or party?
Castle Lodge - Exclusive Use
For the biggest occasions, you can take over Castle Lodge entirely.
Exclusive use gives you the restaurant, private dining room, bar and snug, as well as all seven of our individually designed suites - so your guests can arrive, settle in and stay for a night or two. It works beautifully for wedding receptions, milestone birthdays and weekends away where everyone wants to be together under one roof.
We will help you plan how the event runs - welcome drinks, dinner, speeches if you would like them, and the quieter end of the evening when people drift back to the bar or snug for one last glass. The aim is simple: a celebration that feels unhurried and well looked after.
Event Hosting
As well as private celebrations, we host a small number of events for organisations, charities and partners each year. You lead the guest list and the purpose of the evening; we provide the rooms, the food and the service.
Whether it’s a formal dinner or a standing reception, we are used to working discreetly behind the scenes, coordinating timings, dietary requirements and last-minute tweaks, so hosts can focus on their guests.
